Admission requirements

International students are subject to the same entrance requirements as South African students. For more information about the Admission requirements for UWC please click HERE http://prospectus.uwc.ac.za/educate/admissions-requirements/

If you wish to come to UWC straight from high school in your home country, you need to make certain that your high school diploma or certificate is accepted as the equivalent of the new South African National Senior Certificate (for degree studies) issued to students from 2008, or the Senior Certificate with Matriculation Exemption issued to students up until 2007. Visit the website of the Matriculation Board at www.hesa-enrol.ac.za for further particulars, or fax the board on +27 12 481 2922.

If you are already a university student in good standing in your home country, you may also wish to consult the Matriculation Board if you intend obtaining a UWC qualification. It is likely that you will have no difficulty obtaining matriculation status.

If you wish to spend a semester or a year at UWC as part of your course of studies elsewhere, you should discuss your plans with the UWC departments concerned so that you can make best use of your time with us.

If you wish to take a postgraduate qualification at UWC, you should submit a certified copy of your degree certificate(s) in English to the Registrar so that your qualification(s) can be evaluated. In most cases there are no difficulties.
